Overwatch director states beta contains all launch features
Wish to be very sure you like or hate Overwatch before its official launch date later this month? Most betas offer a little slice of the game, but Blizzard is offering the entire cake for any short time.
Shaun Kaplan, director of Overwatch, described what content the beta might or might not contain. In a nutshell: everything. “The version you’re playing now’s what’s going to go live at launch,” he authored on Fight.net’s forums, adding that bug fixes may also be folded out. “We are also focusing on a lot of publish-launch features and content. It will likely be a fairly amazing summer time.”
Competitive Play, an element contained in the game’s closed beta, was excised in the open beta. “We took it off from Open Beta because we received a lot of great feedback regarding how to enhance the system. We’d a difficult choice. It could have been awesome to achieve the feature set for Open Beta and Launch. But we felt like we’re able to really enhance several things therefore we opted to achieve the feature emerge soon after launch. We are wishing our efforts within the Closed Beta to get things done rapidly and also at top quality aren’t lost on the community — but we never wish to sacrifice the caliber of the sport by putting something live that is not as much as our standards.”
Don’t mourn the lack of Competitive Play. Rather, bone on your preferred heroes, save your valuable epic moments later on viewing, and prepare for that worldwide launch of Overwatch on May 24.
