Bandai Namco Reveals the Legal rights for their Games Galaga Pac-Man
Bandai Namco is letting others use their older IPs inside a new strategic business plan to commemorate their tenth anniversary.
To commemorate the tenth anniversary of Bandai and Namco’s merger, the organization is thinking about opening the legal rights for their older IPs.
It had been reported in Nikkei, a Japanese business newspaper, that Bandai Namco would open the legal rights for their older gaming titles, former arcade games which have since been reprocessed for other consoles and handhelds systems. Much like what Square Enix did with offering three of the older IPs for his or her Square Enix Collective, Bandai Namco really wants to give others the opportunity to revive curiosity about these older titles.
No character supervision is going to be performed, therefore the firms that want to benefit from new strategic business plan can perform just about anything they need. Bandai Namco’s prepared to support and let companies use their works even when they customize the figures, story, or music. They are prepared to accept any applications with this, there is however one primary condition that must definitely be met. That would be that the content should not be offensive or damage the status from the original work if it’s, the applying is going to be switched lower immediately.
The organization will begin taking applications with this new endeavor on April first, however for Japanese companies only. They are considering extending the chance to western or foreign companies, but that’ll be done at another time. Bandai Namco will get a small % of whatever these games sell. The business’s also planning a marketing plan that will permit these to receive a small % of ad revenue for free-to-play games developed out of this new strategic business plan.
The games that Bandai Namco is giving use of are:
- The Tower of Druaga
- Tower of Babel
- Dragon Buster
- Question Momo
- Fight City
- Valkyrie no Bōken (also referred to as The Experience of Valkyrie)
- Yōkai Dōchūki (also referred to as Shadow Land)
- Wagan Land
- Dig Dug
- Star Luster
- Sky Kid
- Genpei Tōma Living room
